Gouda-Style CheeseDog

Surprise yourself with the gouda-style CheeseDog: a tasty fried or grilled CheeseDog on a fresh hot dog bun with crisp lettuce. Red onion, pickles, crispy smoked bacon, and a delicate honey mustard sauce with golden brown fried onions make this flavour special.


  • Hot dog bun
  • CheeseDog
  • Handful of lettuce (iceberg or romaine), cut into strips
  • Red onion in half rings
  • 1 tbsp diced pickles
  • 1 tbsp smoked bacon, fried and diced
  • 1 tbsp honey mustard sauce
  • 1 tbsp fried onions

Preparation method

  1. Cut the hot dog bun partway through lengthwise.
  2. Prepare the CheeseDog in one of these ways:
    Deep-frying: 4 to 5 minutes at 180˚ C
    Grilling: about 8 minutes on the griddle or contact grill over medium heat, turning frequently.
  3. Line the bun with a thin layer of lettuce.
  4. Drain the CheeseDog and place it on top of the lettuce in the bun.
  5. Spread the red onion on both sides of the CheeseDog.
  6. Sprinkle with diced pickles and bacon.
  7. Zigzag a generous dash of honey mustard sauce on top.
  8. Finish with the fried onions.
