Hawaiian CheeseDog

The Hawaiian CheeseDog is a tropical twist on the traditional CheeseDog, served in a corn or hot dog bun with a spicy pizza sauce. This perfectly fried or grilled CheeseDog has diced ham and juicy pineapple on top and must be grilled briefly before melting. Try it on a small pizza crust and enjoy a little calzone!


  • Corn roll or hot dog bun
  • CheeseDog
  • 2 tbsp pizza sauce (spicy, no meat)
  • 1 tbsp ham, diced
  • 1 tbsp pineapple, diced

Preparation method

  1. Cut the corn roll or hot dog bun partway through lengthwise.
  2. Prepare the CheeseDog in one of these ways:
    Deep-frying: 4 to 5 minutes at 180˚ C
    Grilling: about 8 minutes on the griddle or contact grill over medium heat, turning frequently.
  3. Spread a layer of pizza sauce on the bun.
  4. Drain the CheeseDog and place it on the bun.
  5. Sprinkle the CheeseDog with the diced ham and pineapple.
  6. Place the bun under the grill for a short time.


You can replace the roll with a small pizza crust. Fold it in half and bake like a pizza calzone.
