Indonesian-Style CheeseDog

Try the exotic flavour of the Indonesian-style CheeseDog. This CheeseDog celebrating authentic Indonesian cuisine is served on a bed of spicy atjar. On top, you will find a copious amount of rich peanut sauce, which complements the unique flavour and texture of crushed cassava or serundeng.


  • Corn roll or hot dog bun
  • CheeseDog
  • 2 tbsp pickle relish
  • 1 tbsp sweet and sour cucumber
  • 1 tbsp peanut sauce
  • 1 tbsp crushed cassava and/or serundeng

Preparation method

  1. Cut the roll or hot dog bun partway through lengthwise.
  2. Prepare the CheeseDog in one of these ways:
    Deep-frying: 4 to 5 minutes at 180˚ C
    Grilling: about 8 minutes on the griddle or contact grill over medium heat, turning frequently.
  3. Line the bun with a layer of atjar.
  4. Drain the CheeseDog and place it on top of the atjar in the bun.
  5. Put sweet and sour cucumber on both sides of the CheeseDog.
  6. Generously spread the peanut sauce on top.
  7. Finally, sprinkle with crushed cassava and/or serundeng.

Serve hot.
